The Pace is Picking Up...

We are so ecstatically excited!! A lot of amazing manifestations have been occurring. We have spreading the word like wildfire..and we are now open to donations, whether by way of trees, funding, and/or physical assistance. You are, in fact, donating simply by reading this sentence!! Mind is the most powerful asset we have..and we have a lot of it! ;)
Really, though, this project is growing like a forest in itself. We have had offers for several blueberry bushes that need loving spaces to grow, and a few weeks ago we were also offered fig tree saplings to plant in our nearby forest. Today (which also happened to be my, Amanda's, birthday) we planted these trees with the gracious help of a new friend named Tommy, who also generously donated funds to the Blueberry Project and related endeavors. Right now we are focusing on spreading the word and raising funds for the project. Our goal is to take our blighted empty lots and bring them back to life and diversity. Our first step is informing people about our mission and vision. We are working on cleaning up the local green spaces and planting attractive and useful plants that grow food for all of us. Together, we are shifting the collective mentality from dependence to interdependence - from death and decay to growth and renewal.
It is our intention to use what we receive to learn as much as we can about growing food sustainably. We want to make it clear that this means we need to travel the planet to gain knowledge and real, working experience.
If the food system shut down tomorrow, we would not have enough food growing in our wild area to feed everyone, and we can only rely on the packaged food from the grocery stores for so long until it all runs out. What would we do? This is not merely a hypothetical scenario; this is a very real possibility. It is our responsibility now to take the appropriate action and create a sustainable food system: one that is localized, organic, and non-profit based. One that serves to help the whole collective, not just a select few.
I know we will accomplish this. How long is takes is not of consequence; when we trust in the earth's natural timing, everything happens exactly when it's supposed to.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
